AGCO Corp (AGCO) released earnings for its fourth quarter that increased from last year but missed the Street estimates.
AGCO was trading up by 7.51 percent at $130.01 per share in the pre-market trade on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company's earnings totaled $339 million, or $4.53 per share. This compares with $322.2 million, or $4.29 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.
Excluding items, AGCO Corp reported adjusted earnings of $282.5 million or $3.78 per share for the period.
Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $4.02 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company's revenue for the quarter fell 2.5% to $3.800 billion from $3.898 billion last year.
Outlook:
Looking ahead, for the full year, AGCO has initiated earnings outlook above analysts' estimates, where as revenue guidance is in line. The company expects annual net earnings per share of around $13.15, on revenue of approximately $13.6 billion.
On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect the firm to earn $12.91 per share, on revenue of $13.54 billion, for the year. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
