SBM Offshore N.V. (SBFFY.PK), a Dutch-based provider of floating offshore energy solutions, Thursday said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Technip Energies N.V., a French engineering and technology company for the energy transition, to form a 50-50 joint venture EkWiL, a floating offshore wind company. "EkWiL will combine the people expertise, engineering and delivery capabilities, and complementary technologies of Technip Energies and SBM Offshore, creating integrated floating solutions and leading delivery offerings for the Floating Offshore Wind market," SBM Offshore said in a statement.
The joint venture will develop the latest technologies of Semi-submersible INO15 by Technip and Tension Leg Platform Float4Wind of SBM Offshore to cover floating offshore wind market widely.
Arnaud Pieton, CEO of Technip Energies, commented, " By leveraging the synergies of complementary technologies and supply chain experience, EkWiL will increase predictability to meet market demand and deliver on our ambition to provide new energy solutions."
