What's Driving These Stocks Higher In After-hours?

The following are some of the stocks that moved up in after-hours trading on Monday.

BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics Inc. (BCLI) is expected to provide an update on its investigational mesenchymal stem cell therapy NurOwn program tomorrow, April 9, at 8:00 AM Eastern Time. NurOwn is being developed for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a rare disease that attacks and kills the nerve cells controlling voluntary muscles. The company had withdrawn its Biological License Application for NurOwn in ALS, after an FDA panel voted that NurOwn did not demonstrate substantial evidence of effectiveness for treatment of mild to moderate ALS.

Major central banks continued to dominate the economic news flow this week too, led by the Federal Reserve, as they announced their latest policy decisions. The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
