Transurban (TCL.AX), an Australian developer and operator of toll roads, on Thursday registered a rise in its third-quarter Average Daily Traffic or ADT, driven by higher workday ADT and airport related travel that offset construction and weather impacts.
For the March quarter, Transurban posted ADT of 2.419 million, up 0.9 percent from the same period last year. "The timing of Easter in 3Q FY24 vs 4Q FY23 reduced ADT by approximately 1.5% across the Group," the company noted.
Sydney recorded ADT of 1.002 million, up 0.7 percent a year ago period, due to higher workday travel and WestConnex traffic, including a full quarter contribution from Rozelle Interchange.
ADT of Melbourne increased by 1.6 percent from previous year to 818K as airport traffic showed continued improvement in Melbourne with additional freight movements which also supported uplift in workday traffic.
Brisbane posted ADT of 452K, down 1.1 percent from previous year, due to significant rainfall in January and February, which impacted both car and heavy vehicle traffic.
ADT of North America moved up by 4.9 percent to 147K from last year.
