Big Yellow Group PLC (BYG.L), a UK's self-storage company, Thursday reported revenue of 50.2 million pounds for the first quarter, 4 percent higher than 48.1 million pounds in the same quarter a year ago, primarily helped by growth in demand as well as rent.

On a like-for-like basis, store revenue for the quarter excluding Kings Cross, which was opened in June 2023, grew 3 percent to 49.1 million pounds from 47.6 million pounds last year.

Occupancy across all 109 stores increased by 220,000 sq ft compared to a gain of 167,000 sq ft in the same quarter last year.

Average rent per sq ft grew 4 percent from last year to 34.13 pounds.
