The Weeknd has set the record for the most songs to hit 1 billion streams on streaming service Spotify.

"After hours is the latest member in the billions club- bringing him to 18. Currently, the artist with the most tracks to hit a billion streams in the #BillionsClub @theweeknd," Spotify tweeted.

The "Blinding Lights" singer broke a 17-song tie with Drake thanks to the title track from his blockbuster fourth studio album, After Hours.

The Weeknd now boasts a new record total of 18 songs. Among the songs are "Blinding Lights," "Starboy," "The Hills," "I Can't Feel My Face" and "Save Your Tears."

Meanwhile, After Hours' Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit "Blinding Lights" continues to be the most streamed song on Spotify, with nearly 4.5 billion streams.

Earlier this month, The Weeknd released a new song "Dancing in the Flames," from his forthcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The album is the third installment of the trilogy that began with After Hours and continued with Dawn FM.
