Gooch & Housego Full-year Profit Before Tax Declines, But Revenue Edges Up

Gooch & Housego PLC (GHH.L), a manufacturer of photonic components and systems, Tuesday reported profit before tax of 4.21 million pounds for the year ended September 30, 2024, lower than 6 million pounds in the previous year.

Excluding one-time items, adjusted profit before tax decreased 21.6 percent to 8.11 million pounds from 10.34 million pounds last year.

Operating profit declined to 6.81 million pounds from 7.81 million pounds a year ago, and adjusted operating profit was 10.5 million pounds, down from 12.09 million pounds.

Profit from continuing operations was 3.28 million pounds or 12.5p per share, lower than 4.86 million pounds or 19.2p per share last year.

Adjusted profit from continuing operations decreased to 6.57 million pounds or 25.1p per share from 8.49 million pounds or 33.5p per share a year ago.

The company posted net loss of 6.34 million pounds or 24.7p per share for the year compared with profit of 4.05 million pounds or 16p per share last year.

On an adjusted basis, profit was 6.57 million pounds or 25.1p per share, lower than 8.49 million pounds or 33.5p per share a year ago.

Revenue for the year, however, increased 0.7 percent to 135.99 million pounds from 135.04 million pounds in the previous year.

The Board has proposed a final dividend of 8.3 pence per share, payable on February 28, to shareholders on the register on January 24.
