Vertiv (VRT), a digital infrastructure solution, on Friday, announced the acquisition of certain assets and technologies from BiXin Energy Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (BSE), a China-based manufacturer of advanced chiller and heat-recovery systems.
This acquisition, which focuses on centrifugal chiller technology, strengthens Vertiv's offerings in support of high-performance compute and AI applications globally.
BSE, founded in 2010, brings Vertiv a wealth of industry patents and field-proven technology, including magnetic-bearing centrifugal water-cooled and air-cooled chillers with cooling capacities of up to 5.5 MW.
Vertiv's CEO, Giordano Albertazzi, emphasized that the addition of BSE's technologies complements Vertiv's existing chiller portfolio and helps address growing demand for air and liquid cooling solutions in the data center and AI sectors.
Vertiv has partnered with BSE to manufacture Vertiv-branded products in China and throughout Asia, with BSE's products already carrying industry certifications like AHRI and CRAA since early 2024.
The acquisition further solidifies Vertiv's position as a provider of critical digital infrastructure solutions and enables the company to offer more advanced and efficient cooling solutions for data centers and AI systems globally.
VRT closed Thursday's (Dec. 19, 2024) trading at $115.4, up 1.16%. In premarket trading, the stock is down by 3.85% at $111.0.
