The Taiwan stock market has finished higher in back-to-back sessions, advancing more than 510 points or 2.2 percent along the way. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now rests just shy of the 23,670-point plateau and it's expected to open slightly in the green again on Wednesday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets is flat to higher amidst a lack of strong catalysts. The European and U.S. markets finished barely higher and the Asian bourses are expected to follow that lead.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
