Onex Corporation (ONEX.TO), a Canadian investment manager, on Friday reported fourth-quarter net loss of $2 million or $0.02 per share, compared with a profit of $373 million or $4.81 per share, registered for the same period last year.
Investing segment net earnings plunged to $29 million from the prior year's $326 million. The asset management segment net earnings stood at $18 million, lower than $46 million a year ago.
Total segment net earnings were $47 million or $0.62 per share, compared with $372 million or $4.80 per share in the previous year. Distributable earnings, however, improved to $231 million from last year's $139 million.
The Board will pay a first-quarter dividend of C$0.10 per subordinate voting share on April 30, to shareholders of record as of April 10.
