Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (SUNPHARMA) Friday said that its next generation of BLU-U Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) Illuminator has been granted approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The new model in combination with Levulan Kerastick Topical Solution, is indicated for the treatment of minimally to moderately thick actinic keratoses of the face, scalp, or upper extremities.
The company noted that the new LED BLU-U, approved for the same indications as the previous model, is more compact, has less weight, and easy to use.
