Siltronic AG (WAF.DE) Tuesday reported net profit of 18.8 million euros or 0.46 euros per share for the first half, lower than 50.1 million euros or 1.59 euros per share in the same period a year ago, primarily due to decrease in sales.
Earnings before interest and taxes or EBIT declined to 38.5 million euros from 69 million euros last year.
EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization decreased to 164.6 million euros from 181.4 million euros in the prior year.
Sales for the period dropped to 674.8 million euros from 694.8 million euros a year ago.
For the full year, the company has lowered its sales outlook. It now expects sales to be in the mid-single-digit percentage range below the previous year. Previously it was expecting sales in the region of previous year.
For the third quarter, sales are expected to be below the level of the second quarter, as most of the deliveries shifted to the fourth quarter.
