Following the lackluster performance seen in the previous session, stocks continue to experience choppy trading on Tuesday. The major averages have pulled back near the unchanged line after moving to the upside at the start of trading.
Currently, the major averages are posting modest losses. The Dow is down 148.45 points or 0.3 percent at 44,689.11, the Nasdaq is down 17.28 points or 0.1 percent at 21,161.30 and the S&P 500 is down 5.72 points or 0.1 percent at 6,384.05.

Both consumer prices and producer costs have started to reflect the effect of supply shocks due to the Middle East conflict. In Europe, GDP data was in focus, while inflation data from China dominated the news flow in Asia.
