AB InBev Q2 Profit Rises

Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI.BR) Thursday reported net profit of $1.676 billion or $0.84 per basic share for the second quarter, higher than $1.472 billion or $0.73 per share in the same quarter a year ago.

Excluding one-time items, underlying profit increased to $1.950 billion or $0.98 per share from $1.811 billion or $0.90 per share last year.

Normalized EBIT or normalized earnings before interest and taxes rose to $4.013 billion from $3.905 billion in the prior year.

Normalized EBITDA, or normalized earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization was $5.301 billion, slightly down from $5.302 billion last year.

On an organic basis, normalized EBIT grew by 10.2% and normalized EBITDA by 6.5%.

Revenue for the quarter declined 2.1% to $15.004 billion from $15.333 billion a year ago. On an organic basis, revenue increased 3%.

For the full year, the company expects EBITDA to grow in line with its medium-term outlook of 4%-8%.
