Mondi Stock Down On Weak H1 Profit, Despite Revenue Growth

Mondi plc (MNDI.L), a packaging and paper group, Thursday reported lower profit in its first half, despite higher revenues.

On the LSE, Mondi shares were losing around 6.2 percent to trade at 1,096.50 pence.

In the first half, profit before tax fell to 247 million euros from last year's 296 million euros. Basic earnings per share were 38.6 euro cents, compared to 44.5 euro cents last year.

Basic underlying earnings per share were 42.7 euro cents, compared to 50.5 euro cents in the prior year.

Group revenue, however, increased to 3.91 billion euros from last year's 3.74 billion euros.

Further, the company announced interim dividend per share of 23.33 euro cents, same as last year.
