Uniper SE (UNPRF.PK), a German energy company, said on Monday that Steag Iqony Group's Iqony Fernwarme GmbH has inked a deal to buy Uniper's Uniper Warme GmbH.
"For Uniper, the sale is part of the conditions that the company must fulfill under EU state aid law," Uniper said in a statement.
In 2022, the EU Commission had approved the stabilization package for Uniper under state aid law. As part of the approval, the EU Commission issued a number of structural changes that Uniper must implement.
Uniper Wärme supplies over 14,400 customers with heat via its district heating network with a length of over 750 kilometers.
