EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EBK.DE) Friday reported earnings before tax of 1.154 billion euros for the first half, significantly lower than 2.335 billion euros in the same period a year ago, primarily due to decline in revenue.
Net profit decreased to 463 million euros or 1.71 euros per share from 1.345 billion euros or 4.96 euros per share last year.
Excluding one-time items, adjusted profit was 631.9 million euros, lower than 926.9 million euros in the prior year.
EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization was 2.377 billion euros, down from 3.239 billion euros a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA decreased to 2.42 billion euros from 2.588 billion euros last year.
Revenue for the period declined to 17.498 billion euros from 18.362 billion euros in the previous year.
For the full year, the company continues to expect adjusted EBITDA to be in the range of 4.8 billion euros - 5.3 billion euros.
