Grenke H1 Earnings Drop, But Interest Income Rises; Confirms Annual Earnings Outlook

grenke AG (GLJ.DE) Thursday reported earnings before taxes of 33.55 million euros for the first half, 41.7% lower than 57.58 million euros in the same period a year ago, impacted by higher expenses for settlement of claims and risk provision.

Operating result was 36.54 million euros, 37.4% down from 58.34 million euros in the prior year.

Group earnings decreased to 26.16 million euros or 0.34 euros per share from 44.97 million euros or 0.80 euros per share last year.

Net interest income for the first half, however, increased to 200.79 million euros from 176.5 million euros in the previous year, mainly driven by continued growth in new business.

For the full year, the company continues to expect earnings to be in the range of 71 million euros to 81 million euros.
