Assura Plc (ARSSF,AGR.L), a U.K.-based healthcare property investor and developer, said Tuesday that its board has appointed Senior Non-Executive Director Jonathan Davies as Chair, following Ed Smith's resignation and against the backdrop of a takeover offer from Primary Health Properties Plc (PHPRF,PHP.L).
Primary Health Properties' offer, declared wholly unconditional on August 12, remains open for acceptance and could lead to the delisting of Assura shares in London and Johannesburg if Primary Health Properties secures 75% or more of voting rights.
Assura is currently trading 1.26% higher at 48.30 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
Primary Health Properties is currently trading 1.20% higher at 92.65 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
