QuantumScape Corporation (QS) jumped 21.16 percent to $9.50 on Monday, gaining $1.66 after the company and Volkswagen Group's PowerCo SE unveiled a live demonstration of solid-state lithium-metal batteries powering an electric vehicle. The stock opened at $10.06 and traded between $9.42 and $10.68, compared with a prior close of $7.84. Trading volume spiked to 68.6 million shares, well above the 42.9 million averages. Shares now trade within a 52-week range of $3.40 to $15.03. It was showcased in a Ducati motorcycle using QSE-5 battery cells produced with the QS Cobra process at the IAA Mobility event in Munich.
