As Ebony celebrates its eighth decade as the defining voice of black excellence, the Black-owned media company revealed this year's Power 100 list.
Rapper Gunna has found a place among "Music Innovators," the category for artists and executives pushing musical boundaries.
Singer, musician and songwriter Leon Thomas III; singer/host Terrell Grice; costume designer of Beyonce's The Cowboy Carter Tour Shiona Turini; singer Cleo Sol, and rising R&B It-girl Ravyn Lenae are among the others selected as "Music Innovators."
Ebony described Gunna as one of modern hip-hop's most intriguing voices, who has long been adored for his brand of new-school Dirty South lyricism.
"Though he has a rack of hits under his belt, including a Diamond certification and Grammy nomination for 'Drip Too Hard,' it was his perseverance and fortitude that has taken him to new heights since being released from a public legal battle," Ebony said. "Gunna bounced back hard, with three studio albums including 'One of Wun' in 2024 and 'The Last Wun' in 2025, both of which won rave reviews and debuted the top of the Billboard charts."
This year's list highlights extraordinary leaders across 10 categories including Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, Sterling K. Brown, Tony Award-winning actress Kara Young, Indianapolis Colts Linebacker Zaire Franklin, Ego Nwodim, Creator & Activist RaeShanda Lias, Waymo Co-CEO Tekedra N. Mawakana, Bubba Wallace and Blue Ivy Carter.
The unveiling of the 2025 Power 100 list culminates in the 2025 EBONY Power 100 Gala on November 4 in Los Angeles, a landmark event that crowns EBONY's 80th year-long celebration.
"This year carries special significance as EBONY looks ahead, using the Power 100 list as both a reflection of its legacy and a declarative statement for the future it will continue to lead," Ebomy said in a press release.
"The Power 100 is more than a list; it is a blueprint," says Ebony CEO Eden Bridgeman. "EBONY has always been the heartbeat of Black culture, but as we step into our next decade, we are expanding what that means for a new generation. We are building platforms, stories, and opportunities that move Black culture forward globally."
"These honorees represent the future leaders who are innovating, creating, and reimagining what's possible," she adds. "EBONY will continue to be the space where that brilliance is not only seen but amplified to inspire the world."
