Innovent Biologics, Inc. (IVBXF) said Friday that China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved mazdutide for glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D).
The approval was based on two Phase 3 studies, DREAMS-1 and DREAMS-2, which evaluated mazdutide as monotherapy and in combination with other antidiabetic drugs in adults with T2D. Both studies showed mazdutide was superior to placebo or dulaglutide in glycemic control and weight reduction, while also improving multiple cardiometabolic, hepatic, and renal parameters.
