Grenke AG Says Leasing New Business Rose 5.8% In Q3

Grenke AG (GLJ.DE), a German manufacturer-independent leasing company, Thursday said that its leasing new business rose 5.8 percent in the third quarter to 781.2 million euros from 738.5 million euros in the same period last year.

The company said that the contribution margin 2 or CM2 was up 3.3 percent to touch 129.9 million euros from the 125.8 million euros recorded in the year-ago quarter. The CM2 margin came in at 16.6 percent, higher than the expected 16.5 percent for fiscal 2025.

Grenke AG said that in the third quarter, IT equipment was the biggest leasing category, making up 26.5 percent of contracts, which mainly included laptops, IT devices, and software. Direct customer business accounted for 17.9 percent of total new leasing, almost the same as in the third quarter of 2024 at 17.7 percent, the company added.

According to Grenke AG, lease applications rose to about 159,000 compared with around 146,000 in the third quarter of last year, leading to around 77,000 new contracts compared with about 76,000 in the prior-year quarter.

The company said that in the third quarter, the DACH region was the strongest market, rising 9.4 percent to 207.2 million euros and accounting for 26.5 percent of total new leasing business, with Germany alone contributing 21.7 percent.

Grenke AG said that it also formed a long-term partnership with Deutsche Telekom AG to expand leasing solutions for German business customers. Western Europe, excluding DACH, ranked second with growth of 12.3 percent to 197.3 million euros, led by France with a 19.2 percent share. Other Regions grew strongly by 22.2 percent to 59.1 million euros, boosted by significant growth in the U.S, the company added.
