Mondi plc (MONDY,MNDI.L), a packaging and paper industry company, on Monday reported underlying EBITDA of 223 million euros for the third quarter ended September 30, 2024, down from 351 million euros in the prior quarter.
The company said that the decline was mainly due to planned maintenance shuts and a forestry fair value loss, which together impacted results by about 90 million euros. And along with softer seasonal demand and higher input costs.
The company also mentioned that the selling prices in Corrugated and Flexible Packaging rose, while Uncoated Fine Paper prices declined.
In the fourth quarter, there will be fewer planned maintenance shuts, and the company expected the normal seasonal pick-up in demand.
On Friday, Mondi closed trading 0.48% higher at 1,047 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
