Vunani H1 Profit Climbs

Vunani Ltd. (VUN.JO), a South African-based financial services company, Wednesday reported higher earnings for the first half ended August, with increased revenue, compared to the prior year.

Vunani's profit for the six-month period attributable to equity holders was 15.29 million South African Rand from R10.76 million last year.

For the reported period, earnings per share was 9.5 cents, compared to 6.7 cents a year ago.

The company's profit before tax was R36.23 million higher than R31.59 million in the same period last year.

The company's revenue amounted to R221.77 million higher than R204.38 million of prior year.

Vunani expects business conditions continue to improve as of the lagged impact of policy stimulus. Despite the challenging conditions, the company remains well positioned to venture into new business opportunities and thereby improve.

On Monday, Vunani's shares were trading 170 ZAc down on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
