Flex Ltd. Q2 Profit Decreases, But Beats Estimates

Flex Ltd. (FLEX) released a profit for second quarter that Decreased from the same period last year but beat the Street estimates.

The company's bottom line totaled $199 million, or $0.52 per share. This compares with $214 million, or $0.54 per share, last year.

Excluding items, Flex Ltd. reported adjusted earnings of $300 million or $0.79 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $0.76 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the period rose 4.0% to $6.804 billion from $6.545 billion last year.

In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
