HELLA GmbH & Co. KgaA (HLE.DE) on Friday reported lower profit for the third quarter, as higher expenses weighed on profitability despite only a moderate decline in sales.
Earnings before income taxes decreased to €60.17 million from €80.63 million a year earlier.
Earnings before interest and taxes, or EBIT fell to €70.19 million, compared with €92.02 million in the prior-year quarter.
Net income dropped to €36.77 million, or €0.33 per share, from €67.71 million, or €0.61 per share, last year.
Sales edged down to €1.896 billion from €1.905 billion a year ago.
For the full year, the company reaffirmed its guidance and continues to expect currency-adjusted sales between approximately €7.6 billion and €8 billion.
