Sweden Industrial Output Growth Quickens To 13.5%

Sweden's industrial production growth accelerated for the second straight month in September, data from Statistics Sweden showed on Monday.

Industrial production advanced a calendar-adjusted 13.5 percent year-over-year in September, faster than the 10.2 percent increase in August.

Among sectors, manufacturing output surged 13.4 percent from last year, and mining and quarrying output grew by 14.6 percent. Meanwhile, utility sector production continued to decrease by 5.7 percent.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
