South Korea's discount store chain E-MART Inc. (139480.KS) on Tuesday reported higher profit for the third quarter despite slight decline in sales.
Net income from continuing operations before income tax rose to 344.2 billion won from 117.9 billion won in the same quarter of 2024.
Operating profit was 151.4 billion won, 35.6% higher than 111.7 billion won a year earlier.
Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company rose to 265.9 billion won from 120.6 billion won a year ago.
Sales for the quarter totaled 740.08 billion won, down 1.4% year-on-year from 750.85 billion won.
