Berkeley Earnings Decline In H1

Berkeley Group Holdings PLC (BKG.L), a British property developer and housebuilder, on Wednesday reported income decreased in the first half compared with the previous year.

For the first half, profit before tax decreased to 254 million pounds from 275.1 million pounds in the prior year.

Earnings per share were 183.3 pence versus 185.8 pence last year.

Operating profit declined to 245.2 million pounds from 258.4 million pounds in the prior year.

Revenue decreased to 1.18 million pounds from 1.28 million pounds in the previous year.

Further, the company said that it expected policy clarity, faster rate adjustments, and regulatory reforms to revive housing demand and support the government's growth ambitions while preparing long-term investments to deliver more homes.

On Tuesday, Berkeley closed trading 1% lesser at 3,580 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
