Global superstar Mariah Carey has been announced as the first major international guest who will be among the leading performers at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
The five-time Grammy award winning artist, recognized worldwide for her unmistakable voice and smash hits, including "One Sweet Day," "We Belong Together" and "All I Want For Christmas Is You," will take center stage at the Milano San Siro Olympic Stadium on February 6 as the Olympic Winter Games get underway.
Carey is no stranger to performing at sporting events, with the star famously singing the U.S. national anthem "The Star-Spangled Banner" ahead of the NFL Super Bowl in 2002 and again at the NBA All-Star game the following year.
She also debuted her song "Save the Day" ahead of the U.S. Open women's final in 2020, which featured a compilation of tennis stars including Naomi Osaka, Venus Williams and Serena Williams.
But performing ahead of the Olympic Winter Games will be a first in her record-breaking and glittering career and follows in the footsteps of Celine Dion and Lady Gaga, who famously sang at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
