Gurit Holding AG (GURN.SW) Friday said that it has secured an important new long-term supply agreement with a wind turbine OEM for core material kits. The contract covers a five-year period and ensures continuous deliveries, the company said in an official statement.

According to the Swiss supplier of advanced composite materials, engineering services, and equipment, the new agreement is expected to generate net sales of around 250 million Swiss francs over the full term, subject to the OEM's requirements.

The company said that the agreement is its first major contract for core kits based on its OptiCore technology. The technology supports the customer's blade weight-reduction objectives, thus improving manufacturing efficiency and lowering total costs.

On the Swiss Exchange, GURN.SW ended Thursday's trading at 11.90 Swiss francs, down 7.8 percent.
