Kier (KIE.L) has secured a place on British Airways' newly established Tier 1 contractor framework, supporting the airline's multi-million-pound Better Buildings programme led by its Property Team.

The framework runs for an initial three years with the option to extend by a further two and will focus primarily on British Airways' large estate at Heathrow, with potential projects at other major UK locations.

Under the agreement, Kier may deliver a broad range of works, including refurbishments at the Operations East and West bases, upgrades to aircraft stands covering lighting, roads, and drainage, hangar conversions to support new aircraft types, docking and Nose In Facility improvements, and infrastructure upgrades across technical blocks. The scope also extends to cargo building enhancements such as roof, glazing and cladding works.

The Better Buildings programme is intended to create modern and resilient working environments, improve safety, sustainability and energy efficiency, and support BA's wider operational plans, including the introduction of new aircraft from 2028 and 2029.

Kier said the appointment strengthens its aviation portfolio and positions it as a long-term partner in British Airways' estate modernisation programme, drawing on expertise from across the group to support delivery as the programme develops.

KIE.L currently trades at £222.47, or 2.52% higher on the LSE.
