Vietnam Manufacturing Sector Ebbs In January - S&P Global

The manufacturing sector in Vietnam continued to expand in January, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 52.5.

That's down from 53.0 in December although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

The marked rise in output was largely attributed by respondents to higher new orders, which also increased at a faster pace than in December amid improving customer demand. Total new business was supported by a renewed expansion of new export orders.
