Alvotech (ALVO) on Thursday said its pharmacokinetic (PK) study for AVT80, a biosimilar candidate to Takeda Pharmaceutical's Entyvio, met all primary endpoints. Following the announcement, the company's shares rose more than 5% in pre-market trading.

The study, conducted in healthy adult participants, was designed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of AVT80 compared with Entyvio.

Alvotech is developing two biosimilars to Entyvio: AVT16 for intravenous administration and AVT80 for subcutaneous administration.

Global sales of Entyvio, which is approved for the treatment of adults with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis, were approximately $6.4 billion in 2025.

Alvotech shares closed at $5.09 on Wednesday, down 2.30%.
