According to the World Health Organization, more than 2.2 billion people worldwide experience some form of vision impairment or blindness. Aging is a significant risk factor for eye disorders, and one such condition is macular degeneration. Also called age-related macular degeneration (AMD), it is a progressive eye disease for which there is currently no cure, and it exists in two forms: wet and dry.
