The U.S. Customs and Border Protection has claimed tremendous success of the Electronic System for Travel Authorization, or ESTA, and Trusted Traveler Programs in ensuring secure and efficient travel as part of ongoing preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which is expected to draw millions of visitors to the United States.
CBP said that during the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2026, it approved more than 1 million ESTA authorizations for travelers from the World Cup-qualified nations. The United Kingdom led with more than 425,000 approvals, followed by France with more than 215,000. Germany had more than 190,000, Japan nearly 180,000, and South Korea rounded out the top five countries with more than 135,000 approvals.
