Ensurge Micropower ASA (ENSU.OL) Monday said that Matt Catterson has been appointed Chief Operating Officer or COO, effective immediately. The appointment is a part of the company's shift to a product-led operating model, as unveiled on February 3, aimed at accelerating the commercialization of its solid-state lithium microbattery technology.

The company said that Catterson has over 15 years of experience in battery manufacturing and operational leadership. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Manufacturing at QuantumScape, where he oversaw all manufacturing functions and played a key role in the company's PowerCo/Volkswagen licensing and technology transfer initiative, Ensurge Micropower said in an official statement.

According to the Norwegian manufacturer of lithium batteries, in his new role, Catterson will oversee Ensurge's operations and manufacturing activities, with a focus on scaling production processes, strengthening quality systems, and ensuring operational readiness to support customer deliveries.

On the Oslo Exchange, ENSU.OL ended Friday's trading at 0.7790 Norwegian Kroner, up 0.91 percent.
