Amended: FLETCHER BUILDING LTD H1 Loss Narrows

FLETCHER BUILDING LTD (FRCEF.PK) revealed loss for first half of NZD11 million.

Net loss was NZD 11 million, or NZD 0.01 per share, compared with last year's loss of NZD 134 million, or NZD 0.14 per share.

The company's revenue for the period rose 0.5% to NZD2.866 billion from NZD2.852 billion last year.

The company noted that the first half of fiscal 2026 has remained a challenging period for Fletcher Building, adding that the market conditions across New Zealand and Australia continued to be subdued, with a clear contrast between a difficult first quarter and relatively more stable conditions in the second.

Looking ahead, Andrew Reding, CEO of Fletcher, said: "In New Zealand, residential and civil demand is likely to remain relatively subdued through FY26, with a more meaningful recovery not anticipated until calendar year 2027. In Australia, early signs of stabilisation are emerging in parts of the portfolio, although conditions remain uneven."
