Somec S.p.A. (SOM.MI,AW0.F) Wednesday said that it has secured a contract worth more than 41 million euros for its Mestieri-Design and Production of Bespoke Interiors division, through its subsidiary Total Solution Interiors or TSI. The Italian naval and civil turnkey engineering company said that the contract covers three next-generation cruise ships currently under construction by a Italian shipbuilder for a North American cruise operator.
On the Frankfurt Exchange, AW0.F is currently trading up 3.3 percent on Wednesday at 14.15 euros.
The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2029, 2031, and 2033, with design activities set to begin in 2027. The first ship will serve as the lead vessel of the new class, and the financial contribution from the project is expected between 2027 and 2032, Somec said in an official statement.
The company said that as per the terms of the agreement, TSI will oversee the design, production, and installation of approximately 5,800 square metres of public spaces per ship, mainly on Deck 8. The scope includes around ten themed restaurants and bars, as well as an integrated system of family-oriented areas.
