Twenty One Pilots have officially released their fan favorite song, "Drag Path."
The Ohio duo - Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun - had originally shared the song as an exclusive bonus track on Breach: Digital Remains, an expanded edition of their 2025 album, Breach.
The version on the limited expanded edition was available for just one week. The song nevertheless quickly went viral on TikTok, amassing a reported 1.5 billion views across the platform.
Twenty One Pilots have now recorded a new, shortened take on the song. The song arrived with an accompanying animated video, written and directed by Tobias Gundorff Boesen, with one of his old short films inspiring the visuals.
"We had not wanted to release 'Drag Path' officially because we wanted to respect those who purchased it [physically], so that's why we've waited. But now we want to release it," Twenty One Pilots said on why they decided to release the single digitally.
"What we're gonna do is, we're gonna release it with a slightly different edit to it so that those who bought it have a more original version of it. So the official released version is gonna be a little bit different, structurally. Most of it is intact, but I wanted to save something special for those who purchased it originally," they said and added, "We're in a rehearsal space now, working on maybe playing this song live this year. Hopefully you'll like it."
