Metallica's James Hetfield proposed to his girlfriend Adriana Gillett underwater during a shark dive over the weekend.
An underwater shot of Hetfield and Gillett posted on Metallica's social media page shows the frontman holding a sign that read: "Adriana Gillett, will you marry me?"
Gillett, floating next to him in the water, is seen holding up the ring box and making a thumbs-up with her left hand. The picture was captioned: "She said yes!"
Gillett shared the same photo on her Instagram, writing, "The BEST birthday trip surprise. Swimming with whale sharks on Friday the 13th with the most unique, special, and romantic proposal a Pisces could ever imagine. In a sea full of fish, we caught each other. Thank you God for putting us together".
Hetfield and his wife Francesca divorced in 2022 after 25 years of marriage. According to Blabbermouth, the two are said to still be in touch as they co-parent their daughters Cali, 27, and Marcella, 24, and son Castor, 25.
