Country singer-songwriter Jo Dee Messina has announced a new album, Bridges, her first project in over a decade.
As a preview, Messina has dropped the album's first single, "Some Bridges." She co-wrote the song with noted Nashville songwriters Kat Higgins and James T. Slater.
The album draws on the challenges Messina has faced over the last decade, including loss, struggle, and illness.
"We are often told not to burn bridges — and it's good advice," Messina says in a press release. "I've lived long enough to know that's true. But there are also exceptions, and sometimes it's OK to let that baby burn. In life, sometimes we just need to look forward and keep going."
Meanwhile, the singer has announced several summer tour dates.
