United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC) Wednesday said that its net sales climbed 4.9 percent to NT$20.83 billion in March from NT$19.86 billion in the same month last year.
The Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer said that from the period from January to March, total revenues touched NT$61.04 billion, up 5.5 percent from NT$57.86 billion a year ago.
On the NYSE, UMC ended Tuesday's trading at $9.31, up $0.62 or 7.1 percent. In pre-market trading, the stock climbed 3 percent to $9.58.
