The South Korea stock market has moved higher in back-to-back sessions, surging almost 200 points or 3 percent on its way to a fresh record closing high. The KOSPI now sits just beneath the 6,390-point plateau although investors figure to lock in gains on Wednesday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets remains grim thanks to ongoing geopolitical concerns in the Middle East. The European and U.S. markets were down and the Asian bourses are expected to follow that lead.
