LG Display Co., Ltd. (LPL) on Thursday reported weaker first-quarter results, with wider losses and lower sales compared to the same period last year, although operating profit more than quadrupled.
The company posted a loss from continuing operations before tax of 522.211 billion won, compared with a loss before tax of 148.495 billion won a year earlier.
Operating profit rose to 146.719 billion won from 33.464 billion won, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase.
Net loss attributable to shareholders of the parent company was 570.691 billion won, versus a loss of 262.725 billion won in the prior-year period.
Sales declined 9% to 5.5340 trillion won from 6.0653 trillion won a year ago.
