Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co.,Ltd. (000720.KS) reported Tuesday higher net profit in its first quarter, but lower operating profit, amid weak sales.
In South Korea, the shares were trading at 174,200.00 won, up 1.63 percent.
In the quarter, net income attributable to shareholders of parent company climbed 44.1 percent to 173.5 billion Korean won from last year's 120.4 billion won.
Pre-tax net income from continuing operation grew 33.2 percent year-over-year to 273.5 billion won, while operating income fell 15.4 percent to 180.9 billion won.
Quarterly sales dropped 15.8 percent to 6.28 trillion won from 7.46 trillion won last year. Sequentially, sales declined 22.1 percent.
