E.ON Reports Increase In Q1 Profit

E.ON (EOAN.MI) reported earnings for its first quarter that Increases, from the same period last year

The company's earnings came in at EUR2.230 billion, or EUR0.85 per share. This compares with EUR529 million, or EUR0.20 per share, last year.

Excluding items, E.ON reported adjusted earnings of EUR1.341 billion or EUR0.51 per share for the period.

The company's revenue for the period fell 13.5% to EUR21.823 billion from EUR25.216 billion last year.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
