Swiss positioning tech firm u-blox (UBXN.SW) on Wednesday named Matthias Poppel as Chief Executive Officer and Christian Spörri as Chief Financial Officer, as part of a management reshuffle.
Poppel, who joined u-blox as chief growth officer late last year, replaces the previous CEO Stephan Zizala.
He was formerly chief sales and marketing officer at Swissbit and held roles at Texas Instruments and NXP.
Spörri, previously global head of accounting, reporting and tax at u-blox, succeeds CFO Camila Japur, who will leave the company for a new opportunity.
Co-founder Andreas Thiel will take on the role of Chief Technology Officer, focusing on technology development.
"Matthias Poppel brings extensive international management experience, strong strategic capabilities, and a deep understanding of technology and growth markets," Chairman Claudio Simao said.
The changes are aimed at supporting the company's next phase of growth across existing and new market segments, u-blox said.
