DEME's Japanese JV Gets Contract For First 15MW Offshore Wind Turbines

DEME Group NV (DEME.BR) said on Friday that through its Japanese joint venture, Japan Offshore Marine or JOM, it has secured a contract for the Oga-Katagami-Akita Offshore Wind Project in Japan.

The scope includes engineering works and vessel charter for the offshore installation of 21 wind turbines under the contract between Oga Katagami Akita Offshore Green Energy LLC. and Penta-Ocean Construction Co., Ltd, the company added.

DEME Group said that JOM will install 21 Vestas V236-15 MW turbines, marking Japan's first deployment of 15 MW-class turbines and the first use of turbines of this scale outside Europe, excluding China.

On the Brussels Exchange, DEME.BR ended Thursday's trading at 180.40 euros.
